With everything riding on the success of her first solo event, Avery knows that one tiny mishap will ruin any chance of Avery Matthews Events taking off. The perfect ammunition for Lucy, the bride’s older sister who has done everything in her power to ruin Avery since the day Lauren hired her. Avery cannot and will not let this happen which is the only reason she caves, accepting the help of a complete and total stranger. Oddly, Ben Deveroux is the type of guy any girl would love to have pulling them out of a sticky situation. Not only is he incredibly handsome but the second he picks up his guitar, he has every female eating out of his hands.
To Avery’s surprise, dinner was the easy part. As time goes on, she finds herself falling for Ben, something she never thought she’d be capable of doing. But with that comes the distant memories of a life she once shared with the one and only love of her life – Sam Walker and the tragic event that forced her from her lakefront home in North Carolina.
Torn and confused, Avery returns home in hopes that finding closure will be what she needs in order to move forward with Ben. Little does she know, returning home will bring more of a surprise than she could have ever bargained for. A surprise she never saw coming.
Can Avery and Ben survive her past or will the past she’s fought hard to forget be the future she desperately needs? Avery will be forced to reveal the one secret that drove her from the place she called home and realize that forgiveness is the only way she will ever be set free.
